Plan Your Checks

Even though you now have the strategies you need to eliminate overwhelm, that doesn’t mean you’ll never feel overwhelmed again. There will inevitably be times when you’re striving to meet your objectives or juggling conflicting priorities, and you might start to feel like you’re losing control.

But you aren’t. You are always in control.

At those times, use the techniques you learned in this course to exercise that control over your life.

Don’t wait until the next time overwhelm hits to start using these techniques. Keep a regular watch by planning check points when you revisit your priorities and your task organization, as well as your physical and mental health. Put these check points on your calendar so you don’t forget them. They’re preventative measures to avoid experiencing serious overwhelm again.

You can judge when these checks should be, but once every three months will give you the chance to review your working practices and how you’re dealing with stress.
